Pax, Freunde, Pax is a solo miniature for trumpet and tape, written in 2008 for the Serbian trumpeter Nenad Marković. The source note places it after the double-bass Miniatures op. 1 and Avanti, Amico as another exploratory solo miniature.
The expression of the piece is strongly shaped by the tape and by Marković's personality. During the work's preparation he consulted both virtuoso and motivic aspects of the composition. The source note therefore frames the work not simply as a trumpet solo, but as music written for a concrete first performer.
The work also has a personal and extra-musical dimension, connected with the composer's mixed feelings around events in Poland and the Balkans at the turn of the millennium. The tape/electronics were partly created in Marian Czarnecki's computer studio.
